Updated: Feb 3

If you’re looking for the perfect way to spend a weekend packed with wakeboarding, watersports, and outdoor adventure, camping on the banks of Loch Earn is a fantastic option. With plenty of designated camping spots along the loch, you can set up right by the water, wake up to stunning views, and be the first on the water for a sunrise wakeboard session.

Where Can You Camp?

Loch Earn is part of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, and from March to September, camping is managed under a permit system to help preserve the natural beauty of the area. There are several designated permit camping areas along the loch, making it easy to find the perfect spot to set up for the night or the weekend.

How to Get a Camping Permit

Camping on Loch Earn is simple—you just need to book a permit through the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park website. Here’s what you need to know:

• Permits cost £4.20 per tent or motorhome/campervan per night (each tent needs its own permit).

• You can stay for up to three nights in one area.

• Permits can be booked up to four weeks in advance.

• You can camp anywhere within your chosen permit area.

• Check-in from 1pm and depart by 11am on the day you leave.

You can book your camping permit and find detailed locations on the National Park’s official website.
